“This is a celebration of friendship developed over the past 6 years at St. Louis as they prepare for their A2 level year which will see them embarking on new adventures in their lives”. Head of Senior School at St. Louis, Mr Eamon McGlue, welcomed the current Year 14 students and their guests to the annual Formal which took place last Friday night, with the Canal Court Hotel in Newry providing an equally glamourous backdrop for such an occasion.

Mr McGlue praised the work put in by the Year 14 students to this event which would not be out of place amongst the glamour hot spots of a Hollywood. ‘Under the guidance of Mr Quail (Head of Year 13) and Mr Oliver Sloan (Head of Year 14) these students planned the finer details of this great event’ said Mr McGlue, ‘and the success of this occasion is a fitting tribute to their excellent efforts’.

These young ‘debutants’ and their guests arrived at the Canal Court amidst a scene usually associated with the ‘Oscars’. Not to be outdone, the staff of St. Louis also showed their style as they also entered the building to celebrate the occasion with their students. Still smiling from the success of their recent AS examinations, the students were fully intent to have a great night as they embark on their crucial final year at St. Louis contemplating the next stage of their lives- attending university.
