To be able to share marvellous successes with your teachers and classmates must be a proud experience for any young student. Three students at St. Louis Grammar School, Kilkeel, recently received plenty of pats on the back for their recent exploits in Killarney. Competing at the An Chomhdháil World Irish Dancing Championships in Killarney, the young Irish Dancing talents of Emma McArdle, Aoife McGrath and Eábha O’Hagan shone through in abundance.

Year 14 student Emma McArdle, attained an amazing overall 2nd place in the World Championships along two 4th placed finishes in her solos. Fellow Year 14 student and friend, Aoife McGrath, attained a 1st place in her solo along with a 13th place finish in the overall championship. Showing great potential for the future, young Year 10 student, Eábha O'Hagan, attained a 2nd and 4th place in her solos along an overall 14th finish in the World Championship.

Acknowledging the magnificent work of their tutors St. Louis Vice-Principal Mr Eamon McGlue, said “We congratulate these three young St. Louis students on their unbelievable success, but also the ‘Schools of Irish Dancing’ which prepared them so thoroughly”.
