St. Louis Grammar School, Kilkeel, has a reputation for excellence and the talent and enthusiasm of its STEM Engineering students is widely recognised by the world of industry.

Caitlin Sands completed a series of challenging interviews and aptitude tests in June 2016 and was announced last week as winner of the prestigious UK Arkwright Engineering Scholarship. Caitlin follows in the footsteps of Ryan Rafferty and Steven Flood, joint winners in 2015, who have now commenced their MEng Engineering Degree programmes at Queen’s University Belfast.

Caitlin will have an engineering company sponsoring her both through her A-Level course and her Engineering degree course at university. Caitlin will be travelling to London in October to receive her award which will include £300 p/a towards her studies.
