The message is clear to ‘would-be bullies’ - Stop what you are doing, now! Key Stage 3 students at St. Louis Grammar School, Kilkeel were recently taking part in raising awareness the various types of ‘bullying’ and the negative impact it has on young people.

As part of the ‘Anti-Bullying Week’ events, St. Louis students were engaged in a variety of initiatives to raise the issue among the school community. As part of its contribution to this campaign, the Art Department at the school, co-ordinated by Head of Art, Mrs Jayne Grant, organised an Anti-Bullying poster competition. The response from the students was overwhelming, with the message coming out very clear from all entries- St. Louis says no to Bullying’.

Due to the excellent standard of entries, addressing so many areas of bullying, Mr Loye, Head of PC, has a very difficult task of picking the winner. This year Laura Barton from Year 8 (D) was the worthy recipient, taking a modern twist to her presentation, particularly caught Mr Loye’s eye.

However, the aim to raise awareness for the Anti-Bullying campaign was a he success as many of the entries adorned the corridors of St. Louis to reinforce this powerful message.
