This qualification may be taught at the Kilkeel SRC campus.
The A Level in Health and Social Care has been developed to:
- equip students with knowledge, understanding and skills for success in employment in the health and/or social care sector
- provide specialist studies relevant to health and social care professions
- develop the ability of learners to contribute to the health and social care environment through effective use and combination of the knowledge and skills gained in different parts of the programme
- develop skills and techniques, and personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life and thereby enable learners to make an immediate contribution to employment
This qualifications provides a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills required in the Health and Social Care sector and is recognised by employers. It also develops skills and techniques, and personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life.

A Level Health and Social Care
This qualification requires pupils to have:
7 GCSEs A*-C - including English and Mathematics.
A GCSE in Child development or Home Economics / Food Nugtrition Science may be a helpful though not required.
